We are now public
Thanks for all of you who were using the closed beta so far.
We got a lot of awesome feedback and were able to improve codev.it step-by-step.
Due to the huge amount of requests, we decided to open codev.it to the public today.
Let us know what you think and enjoy coding with codev.it
The codev Team
codev.it introduces the issue tracker
Create issues, discuss them with your teammates and get them done – now all within codev.it.
In the last couple of weeks we asked our users about what features they liked most and which they don’t use at all.
We figured out that the project overview page was not clear enough and the wiki wasn’t used a lot.
As a result, we came up with the idea to replace the wiki with a built-in issue tracker – a feature which we also needed ourselves.
We made it as easy to use as possible. Just as you would expect it from codev.
There is a “todo”-list, which can be ordered by priority by simply dragging tasks around.
Once you’re done, you mark the task as such, and it moves to the “done”-list.
You and your co-workers can comment on each task, to track its progress or change its goals.
In case you already started to work with the wiki and want to save some data, you can still access the wiki under
http://codev.it/#YOURPROJECTNAME/.codev/wiki.txt.
We hope you love the new issue tracker and interface as we do.
Happy coding,
The codev Team
Due to the request, we want to explain the autosave function in more detail.

We are very happy to announce that we just installed a huge update on codev.it.
Over the last weeks, we have restructured and rewritten the whole code from the ground up.
Furthermore, we are excited to announce that we will offer an api for developers to create own plugins for codev.it in the near future.
We are pleased to welcome our new team member Christopher Pietsch, christopherpietsch.com, @chrispiecom.
Chris studied Computer Science in Berlin and currently studies Interaction Design at the @fh-potsdam.de
He is getting totally crazy about the newest gadget and loves the new HTML5 drag’n drop upload feature which will be released in the next update.
Besides he prefers to code on trees.
Thanks for all of you who have registered for the codev beta so far.
We are currently quite busy with the organisation of the corporate structure and small bug fixing so we are delighted to announce that we will approve heaps of users to the beta next week.
By the way, we are planning to switch to public beta in mid september.
Happy coding!
